About Us

THE MT. ZIONS COMMUNITY CENTER was founded in 1953 by a group of community leaders wanting to celebrate July 4th annually. Little did they know that this event would still be in existence several decades later. This event brings individuals raised in the community, back to celebrate this momentous occasion.

On September 15, 1999 we were approved as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit entity by the Internal Revenue Service a Department of the Treasury of the United States of America.

In 2000 we were awarded a grant to build a community center for our annual 4th of July celebration.

In 2009 we were presented with bricks from Acme Bricks and concrete from McCoys to build a BBQ pit to use for this special occasion.

In 2011 a cover was placed over the BBQ pit to shelter the BBQ pit from diverse weather conditions. We share this information within our Website to inform our sponsors and faithful members that we are persistently working to ascertain the continuous growth of the Mt. Zions Community Center Organization.

It is Mt. Zions Community Center officers and members objective to ascertain this event continues for an indefinite time frame.

Additionally, please note that our annual July 4th celebration will always be held on July 4th regardless of the day of the week. The only exception is Sunday to which the event will be held on the previous Saturday.
